Typhoon "Gener" |
One would not think it will hit Metro Manila with such fury, everyone was caught off-guard. Anyway what happened next was horrendous and it's worth nothing that the local weather bureau did not expect the Tropical storm to shift direction in such a short time. The electric cables here almost snap and could see our neighbor's roof almost been blown away. As usual floods rose quickly (some reaching chest deep) which made most of the roads here in Metro Manila look like a river network with traffic on a standstill.

Roxas Blvd., Manila near the U.S. Embassy flooded. |
Gener left a trail of destruction along its path and left countless people dead (more than 40 fatalities) and injured. Wouldn't want to go into details as its clearly reported on the tri-media. It left early Friday Morning August 3, 2012 which is for the books as one of the worst to hit the country in recent years.
